Jen: Kansas City, Kansas; I am a recovering perfectionist. Through marriage and motherhood I have learned so much; I will never be a size 4 again. My girls are more important than the dishes or the laundry. No matter how hard I work, my paycheck always looks the same. I don’t have the attention span to read books for pleasure. I’m not afraid to admit that I love my minivan. My house does not look like pottery barn; my decor includes cheerios, pacifiers, socks and shoes: and you are welcome to drop by anytime. I am usually in bed by 9. I can’t remember the last time I wore lipstick or pantyhose. I am doing more and more things that I used to make fun of my mom for doing. I would rather spend extra money on a home improvement project than on a vacation. There is no extra money. The more my husband grows up the sexier he gets. My girls are way more entertainment than any movie. I am usually too tired to be a strict parent. I fit better in suburbia than I did in the city. The list of things for me to do in my “spare time” keeps getting longer. We intend to go to church every week that we don’t. I am so not cool anymore; it was too much work anyways. Life is not perfect and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
